Academy Mission
The mission of the Academy of Doctoral Prepared Nurses is to improve healthcare outcomes and delivery systems through the collaboration of doctoral prepared nurses.
Vision
The vision of the academy includes:
- Advance collaboration with colleagues embracing all nursing doctorate degrees.
- Promote the dissemination of healthcare services techniques that demonstrate healthcare improvements
- Demonstrate intra and interprofessional collaboration among al healthcare professional partners, and,
- Integrate research-based evidence to impact healthcare services and policy nationally and internationally.
Donate
Donations to the Academy benefits all doctoral prepared nurses in practice, new graduates, and student as they help support project initiatives and expansions that help to improve healthcare outcomes.
Events
The inaugural ADPN Summit took place June 2024. Plans are made to have another face-to-face meeting aligned with the 18th National Doctors of Nursing Practice Conference in 2025. Webinars and periodic virtual meetings are planned.
About the Academy
Academy Direction
The purpose of the Academy of Doctoral Prepared Nurses is to provide a venue and vehicle for doctoral prepared nurses to collaborate and demonstrate joint efforts to improve health care outcomes. Why is this needed? Doctoral prepared nurses in all settings and venues are prone to working in isolation (researchers with researchers, practice doctorates, educators with educators, and nursing scientists with nursing scientists). Collaboration is expected and anticipated, yet are we collectively doing our best to address pressing social and health issues? We can do better.
Academy Fellows Plans
Inducting fellows into the Academy of Doctoral Prepared Nurses is a plan and process that has been discussed, yet these plans have not been refined or implemented. If you would like to be a part of this planning process, please CONTACT US!
Integration of Colleagues
Colleagues that are ideal for this academy include any nurse that is doctoral prepared. Examples:
PhD, DNP, EdD, DNSc, DHSc, DSS, and others including other disciplines such as medicine, pharmacy, and social work.
The only guideline is that the doctoral prepared colleague is also a nurse.
